Contract Human Resource Specialist

Job Description

The Person will be responsible for managing all HR related matters including to ensure compliance with all labour related laws and regulations.

1. Workforce Planning and Employment

· Provide support in implementing the organization’s recruitment strategy

· Contribute to the HR strategy, policies and procedures by making recommendations on relevant strategies, systems and initiatives

· Coordinate shortlisting and interviews of applicants

· Facilitate pre-employment tests

· Assist with background and reference checks

· Process appointments, transfers and terminations

· Conduct onboarding and induction programmes for new employees

2. HR Development

· Ensure that approved HR strategies are aligned to best practice and implemented accordingly

· Provide an effective HR specialist service in support of the Seta’s organisational strategy and mandate

· Compile the Workplace Skills Plan/ Annual Training Report application and submission for the company

· Conduct training sessions

· Provide input and recommendations with regards to further development and training of staff

· Co-ordination of Learning and Development (L&D) plans and training reports

· Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of training programmes

· Maintain records of employee participation in all training and development programmes

· Apply and implement corporate culture initiatives

· Maintain and update Talent Management plans

3. Total Rewards Administration

· Co-ordinate medical aid and risk cover benefit for employees

· Administration of leave

· Co-ordinate travel and cellphone claims

· Administration of the performance management system

4. Employee and Labour Relations

· Assisting with processing employee grievances, dispute and conflict management whilst maintaining confidentiality, promoting equity and fairness across the organisation

· Assist in preparing recommendations for Remco’s consideration

Job Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS · B degree in human resources or related field · 5 years related experience The following knowledge, experience and attributes are required for this position: Knowledge and experience · HR specialist experience · An understanding and proven experience relating to employment equity and BBBEE · Best practice knowledge and expertise of HR trends · Specialist experience in recruitment and selection, performance management, training and development, employee relations, payroll and remuneration management, HR budgeting control and leave management Experience in the public sector and the Seta environment is preferable
