Full-Time Executive: Group Strategy and Transformation

Job Description

Responsible for overall knowledge and strategic insight (e.g. global trends, local market knowledge, competitor analysis etc.) in the communications sector. Provides expert strategic input and set the Group’s future ambition, direction, goals and priorities. Manages overall internal customer feedback and query resolution on strategic matters

• Drive and champion strategic analysis and insight and define overall Group strategy, strategic initiatives, company growth opportunities etc.
• Analyze global trends in telecommunications sector, including competitive landscape and key players (e.g. BT, Telstra, Vodafone, TeliaSonera etc.)
• Assess competitive landscape for South African telecommunications sector (including competitor strategies, growth priorities, key strengths, value propositions, target market etc.)
• Liaise and collaborate with strategic functions in each BU to develop overall Group strategy and prioritize projects
• Drive development of BU Flight Plans, KPIs and approval of BU strategies
• Liaise with Group and BU Finance and provide critical input to develop Group Business Plans
• Participate in the strategic direction for top-level corporate messaging
• Develop formal Group Strategic Plan in accordance with King IV requirements and formulate Group equity story
• Obtain Exco and Board approvals for Group Strategy Plan
• Supports senior executives with their external and internal presentations and speaking requirements
• Assess and report on the success of current strategies and influence the development of future strategies
• Provide support to head of Group Strategy, Transformation and PMI by providing ad-hoc analysis and support
• Formulate and manage implementation of the business plan and performance targets for the function
• Manage projects and consultants

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS • 3 year degree (NQF level 7) preferably in a quantitative discipline such as business, economics or engineering. MBA or masters in related discipline will be an advantage. EXPERIENCE • 8 years experience in the IT/ telecoms industry in enterprise markets, of which 3 years on senior management level. Must have worked in strategy teams • Developing complex strategies. Proven research experience. Proven analysis track record especially experience re new technologies
