Full-Time Executive: Commercial & Procurement

Job Description

Accountable for creating and leading the sourcing strategy for Properties, M&T and Corporate managing all aspects of contracts and procurement , Responsible for driving the development of Property services category practices, including overall category and sourcing strategy definition and deployment with a view to maximize total cost of ownership savings and procurement value contribution through effective leadership.
• Defines the overall category strategy for Group of Companies (45%)
• Takes a strategic long term view of procurement in identifying and developing initiatives and sources of supply
• Aligns the overall category strategy to budget and demand plan, technology strategy, overall corporate strategy and leading practice
• Leads the key and complex supplier selection, identification of potential strategic partners and fact based negotiations for the commodity areas
• Coordinates, aligns and drives the execution of the Managed Services, HR Training and Travel, Consulting, Financial Services and Legal commodity
• strategies to the overall Professional Business Services strategy
• Performs the Category Manager role for one sub-category within the Professional Business Services category
• Establishes measures and controls to ensure the successful implementation of the category strategy in alignment with the overall KPI framework
• Continuously working to strategically expand, preserve or improve the procedures, standards or policies while sticking to business edicts and regulatory guidelines.
• Utilize knowledge of business law to verify, oversee or approve commercial agreements and documentation.
• Monthly/ Periodic assessment of supplier commercial performance.
• Direct and oversee implementation of the division work plan, assigned work, activities, and projects.
• Oversight and Ownership of transactional procurement activities.
• Management and Ownership for the Procurement Operations function.
• Member of the Strategic Sourcing and operational team for supplier re-contracting or new outsourcing activities.
• Responsible and accountable for effectively leading, managing and developing the commercial team.
• Manages the development of divisional budget, expenditure and performance reporting.
• Direct and oversee implementation of the division work plan, assigned work, activities, and projects.
• Partner with Finance, Procurement and other Shared Services groups in the delivery of coordinated solutions to internal customers.
• Drives contract compliance and payment terms as per polices (15%)
• Closely monitors internal customers contract compliance, defines and takes approved corrective actions to improve contract compliance in alignment with the procurement policy
• Manages internal customer relationships (10%)
• Manages overall internal customer feedback and query resolution on category and supplier performance
• Administers periodic surveys to measure customer feedback for continuous improvement
• Within the framework of the cross functional sourcing and supplier development teams, closely develops and manages the relationship with internal customers
• Improves and reinforces procurement’s image within the internal customer community
• Acts as a source of expert market knowledge, insight and advice to customers

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS • Relevant degree/ diploma (NQF level 7), preferably commercial related degree or relevant qualification like Chartered Accountant or Quantity Surveying • Education in a commercial, financial, marketing or business related field is crucial. A post graduate property management degree or a MBA/MBL will be an added advantage. EXPERIENCE • 8 Years relevant experience in a Property Procurement related commercial environment, of which at least 3 years on senior management level in a comparable large company. • Experience in property development, built environment and/ or outsourced facilities management or project management and/ or construction of commercial buildings. • Exp in alternative and innovative commercial contracting mode.
